This year, the capital’s plant expanded its product range for energy facilities by mastering the production of a new series of medium-voltage power cables. They are designed for the transmission and distribution of electricity at industrial sites, in energy systems, and transport infrastructure. This was reported by the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy. Anatoly Garbuzov.

“Capital manufacturers design and produce products for the reliable operation of urban infrastructure. This year, the ‘MosCable Plant’ has expanded its range of power cables. The new series is designed for a wide range of tasks, including powering transport facilities. The enterprise has industrial complex status and receives support from Moscow in the form of tax benefits,” noted Anatoly Garbuzov.

The new cables are characterized by high strength and resistance to low temperatures. When laid next to each other, they do not propagate combustion. In addition, the sheath of the products does not contain halogens, so no gaseous products causing corrosion are released during a fire. These characteristics are especially important for facilities with increased requirements for power supply reliability and fire safety.

The lineup includes options with copper and aluminum conductors of various cross-sections. Depending on operating conditions, the cable design may feature different screens and protective elements.

“The variety of designs allows selecting a solution tailored to the requirements of a specific project. One of the produced variants is a cable rated for 15 kilovolts with a copper conductor cross-section of 500 square millimeters and a copper screen cross-section of 120 square millimeters. A set of three such products can transmit up to 26.6 megawatts of power. This is comparable to the simultaneous consumption of about five thousand apartments, assuming each has a load of 5.4 kilowatts,” said Pavel Moryakov, CEO of the Moskabelmet Group.

Moscow is the largest industrial and scientific-engineering center in Russia. Approximately 150 high-tech enterprises open annually in the city.
