Starting November 7, buses and electric buses will be able to travel faster along Starokachalovskaya Street, Khachaturyan Street, Borovskoye Highway, and when entering the Khovrinsky overpass. New dedicated lane sections will be activated there. They will help reduce travel time for passengers of popular city and regional routes.

“By the order of Sergey Sobyanin, we are introducing new dedicated lanes and improving the existing ones so that trips on buses and electric buses become even faster and safer. Thanks to the joint work of the transport organizer and the Traffic Management Center, starting from November 7, new sections of dedicated lanes with a total length of 1.5 kilometers will operate in four districts of the capital. Sixteen surface transport routes run here, including three mainline, two night, and four regional routes. These are in-demand directions, on which more than 100,000 trips are made on weekdays,” said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry issues.

Maxim Liksutov.

In the southwest, a dedicated lane will be established on Starokachalovskaya Street. This will help speed up traffic on four regional routes, which passengers use more than 50,000 times on working days.

A dedicated lane will appear on Khachaturyan Street in the northeast. It is intended for buses M54, No. 803, and H9. Passengers make over 15,000 trips on them daily, and after the introduction of the new section, travel time will be halved.

In the northern part of the city, a dedicated lane will be organized when entering the Khovrinsky overpass. At the same time, three traffic lanes will be maintained for cars, and one dedicated lane for public transport will be added. It will be used by trunk routes M57 and M57k, as well as district route No. 284. Approximately 27,000 passengers use them daily.

A dedicated lane will be arranged on Borovskoye Highway in the west. The 350-meter section is intended for six routes, on which about 11 thousand trips are made daily. Thanks to the new solution, travel time will be reduced by half.

Dedicated lanes help buses and electric buses move faster and more safely. They reduce travel time on average by two to four times and decrease the risk of road accidents by approximately 25 percent. Giving priority to city transport also allows for reduced waiting times at stops and more efficient distribution of rolling stock between routes.
