The second Moscow International Video Games Week — a key event of the gaming and IT industry — will take place in the capital from October 29 to November 1. It was organized by the Agency of Creative Industries with the support of the capital Department of Culture. The Video Games Week will bring together leading gaming and IT companies, industry specialists, as well as gamers from Russia and other countries. As part of the program, more than 40 residents of the Moscow Video Games and Animation Cluster will present their projects.

The residents’ alley will operate from October 30 to November 1 at the Moscow cluster of video games and animation. Visitors will not only be able to get acquainted with new releases but also try them out at the booths. For studios, this is a chance to receive feedback from the audience and find partners, and for guests — an opportunity to see which games and cartoons are being created in Moscow right now.

The theme of the Moscow International Week of Video Games this year is “Beyond the Industry.” The organizers emphasize the connections of video games with literature, cinema, animation, and other creative fields. This idea is vividly reflected in several projects on the alley. For example, the Hanuman Games studio will bring the game Toto’s Journey. In it, the dog Toto sets off on a journey through the universe of “The Wizard of the Emerald City,” and the player will have to solve puzzles and complete storyline tasks. Another example is the action game Tsarevna. Age of Tales by the WATT studio. Here, the player takes on the role of a tsarevna in a Slavic fairy tale, and ballet serves as an unusual weapon.

Several projects inspired by folklore and historical events will be presented at Game Week. 39 kingdom Studio is preparing the roguelike The Bun. Survivor. In it, the player controls Kolobok, who must transform from the hero of a familiar fairy tale into a true epic bogatyr. The Varyagi studio will showcase the tactical game Reconnaissance: 1944, set in East Prussia in the autumn of 1944. Players will lead a group of Soviet scouts and will be able to independently choose the mission’s playstyle.

Horror fans are in for three projects. Terrabyte Games studio will present the game Run Away From Me, where the player has to hide from a pursuer in a confined space, gradually uncovering the story of the place detail by detail. The psychological horror Calling You Home: Town Horror by the “Technocor Laboratory” studio will send the hero in search of his younger sister to an abandoned town that once grew around an amusement park, but is now forgotten.

Black Caviar Games and GamesLab will present story-driven games. In the adventure action game Pio: A Robot’s Story, the young inventor Kir together with the robot Pio travels from retro-futuristic Moscow to the islands of the Pacific Ocean. The role-playing game Our Childhood offers a look at everyday life through the eyes of a hero with a highly developed imagination—every meeting and event here can become the beginning of a game, an adventure, or an opportunity to help loved ones.

They will also present animated premieres. Thus, Vladimir Sakhnovsky’s studio “Sakhnovsky Park” (the creator of “Bodo Borodo” and “Primitive Dad”) has already released the series “Shushumagiya” (2D) and “Vrednoblog” (3D). “Klaxon Production” will show the children’s ecological series “Flora Team. Eco Patrol,” and Itsalive — “Sleepy Tales.” This is an AI animation project created specifically for the very youngest viewers.

“The NanoSemantics Laboratory,” specializing in artificial intelligence technologies, will bring the Splite FPV: Drone Racing simulator, which, in addition to races, features missions for firefighting and animal rescue.

In addition, at the residents’ alley, you will be able to get acquainted with mobile and casual games, animation projects, and technological developments of other cluster participants. Prior registration is required for attendance at website.
