In 2026, the Sputnik Technopolis plant increased its pharmaceutical substance production volume eightfold compared to 2025. The enterprise is part of the R-Pharm group of companies and is a resident special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow.” This was reported by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Anatoly Garbuzov.
“More than 100 pharmaceutical enterprises operate in the capital, employing about 17,000 people. With the city’s support, companies are modernizing equipment and increasing the production of modern domestic drugs. For example, the Moscow plant increased its production of pharmaceutical substances eightfold in 2026. This growth is associated with the systematic development of the production of drugs for the treatment of leukemia, lymphoma, rheumatoid arthritis, and a remedy for therapy of head and neck cancer,” noted Anatoly Garbuzov.
The plant has established a full production cycle of rituximab — an antitumor and immunomodulatory agent. This year, the company also began producing cetuximab — the first biosimilar in Russia of a foreign antitumor drug for the treatment of head and neck cancer.
The company operates its own research center dedicated to the development of original and import-substituting pharmaceutical products — one of the largest in the country.
The factory produces drugs for the treatment of oncological and autoimmune diseases. Most of them are included in the list of essential and vital medicines. The enterprise’s products are used in medical institutions in Moscow and other regions of the country.
The company benefits from support measures for residents of the special economic zone “Technopolis Moscow,” including tax incentives.
“We are consistently increasing production capacity to meet the needs of the healthcare system and provide patients with advanced medications. It is important for us not only to increase volumes but also to develop technologies that allow us to produce in-demand medicines in Russia through a full cycle. Cooperation with Moscow plays a significant role in this: the city’s support measures help us modernize production, create new technologies, and expand our product range,” said the plant’s general director, Alexander Shishov.
The special economic zone “Technopolis Moscow” in 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of its founding. Today, on 10 sites of the SEZ totaling 430 hectares, more than 250 high-tech enterprises are localized, representing strategic areas such as microelectronics, instrument engineering, biomedicine, IT, and robotics.
