Project “Active Citizen” concludes the series of educational quizzes about Russian classics, after whom the capital’s libraries are named. Participants have already answered questions about the life and work of Sergey Orlov, Leo Tolstoy and Konstantin Simonov. Now they are offered to go through the fourth, final one quiz, dedicated to Fyodor Tyutchev, whose memory is carefully preserved in Library No. 148.
The quiz consists of five questions. For example, “active citizens” are invited to recall the name of the Tyutchev family estate — the place where the future lyricist was born and raised. The poet often visited it even as an adult. In August 1857, returning from the estate to Moscow, he created one of his most famous poems — “There is in the early autumn…”.
The questions also touch upon the poet’s love lyrics. One of his famous works, “You have heard confessions more than once…”, is dedicated to Fyodor Tyutchev’s muse. The cycle of poems addressed to her is called the pinnacle of Russian love lyrics. Participants in the quiz need to name this woman.
The poet’s work was highly valued by his contemporaries. One of them said about him: “Life without Tyutchev is impossible!” “Active citizens” will have to guess who this phrase belongs to.
In Fyodor Tyutchev’s mature years, not a single portrait of him was painted; only photographs have been preserved. Based on them, artists later created images of the poet in various techniques. For example, the library No. 148 holds an engraving donated by the painter’s daughter. His name will be the answer to one of the quiz questions.
In addition, in the Tyutchev Hall of the library, visitors can see the poet’s family coat of arms. Each of its elements has a meaning, and Muscovites are invited to find out which one communicates the military distinction of the writer’s ancestors.
The quiz was prepared by the “Active Citizen” project together with By the Department of Territorial Executive Authorities of the City of Moscow. Muscovites with a standard or full account on the portal mos.ru. Points of the city loyalty program are awarded for each correct answer “Million Prizes”. They can be used to obtain goods and services from partner organizations or directed to charity. All options for using points are presented on the website ag-vmeste.ru.
Project “Active Citizen” has been operating since 2014. During this time, more than seven million people have joined it, and over 7,900 votes have been conducted. Every month, 30 to 40 decisions made by Muscovites are implemented in the city. The project is developed by the State Public Institution ‘New Management Technologies’ and the Moscow Department of Information Technology.
