Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko held a working meeting with the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev. They discussed the development of tourism and education in the region.

“Sevastopol is the pearl of the Black Sea coast, beloved by tourists from across the country. As part of the national project ‘Tourism and Hospitality,’ we are creating conditions for their quality rest. Thanks to the large-scale Sevastopol tourism cluster, the region will gain not only an additional resort but also 3,000 jobs. Work on it is ongoing within the framework of the large federal project ‘Five Seas and Lake Baikal,’ implemented by the decision of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.

In Sevastopol, within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry,” support has already been provided to 40 projects aimed at creating new tourist routes and acquiring specialized tourist equipment. Priority projects “Terroir Sevastopol” and “Development of Balaklava” are being implemented in the city; historical-patriotic, event, cultural-educational, wine and gastronomic, and active tourism are developing. As part of concessional lending, a five-star hotel complex “Sevastopol” and an aqua-thermal complex are being constructed in Sevastopol.

By the decision of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, 584.5 million rubles have been allocated to support the tourism industry in Sevastopol. Payments are already being made.

“We are currently paying triple the minimum wage for each employee of the enterprise — helping businesses to retain their staff. Nearly 700 payments have already been made,” said the governor.

Dmitry Chernyshenko and Mikhail Razvozhayev also discussed the development of educational infrastructure. For example, the renovation of the dormitory at the Sevastopol branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University was financed as part of the major repair program.

In addition, work is underway to improve sports facilities in Sevastopol. For example, the major renovations of two Olympic reserve sports schools are nearing completion, a major renovation of the football field is in progress, smart sports grounds are being installed, and construction of the “Chaika” rowing base in Inkerman is planned to begin soon.

“I will note with no small pride that since 2019, the number of people who systematically engage in physical culture and sports in Sevastopol has more than doubled,” said Mikhail Razvozhayev.
