The State University of Management and Kovrov State Technological University named after V. A. Degtyarev will join efforts in the development of autonomous unmanned transport and robotics. This was agreed upon during a working meeting of representatives of the universities in Kovrov.
The delegation from GUU included the director of the Engineering Project Management Center Vladimir Filatov, deputy director Denis Mayanov, and research associate Nikita Akinshin. From GTGU, the meeting was attended by the acting rector of KSTU Alexey Egorov and the vice-rector for scientific and innovative activities Vladimir Belogusev.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation and agreed to combine the capabilities of GUU in engineering and project management with the scientific and technical groundwork of KGTU. They decided to start by improving autonomous control systems and expanding the functional capabilities of unmanned vehicles.
During the visit, the GUU delegation familiarized themselves with the developments of the scientists at the Kovrov university. Special attention was paid to the unmanned “Gazelle,” equipped with technical vision systems and capable of autonomous driving. The delegation was able to directly assess the vehicle’s capabilities by taking a ride in its cabin around the university campus.
Since 2023, this car has brought victories to the Kovrov team at the All-Russian field tests “Robocross” and took second place at the NTI Up Great technology competition “Fifth Level” in 2024.
