Jiuquan, October 14 /Xinhua/ — China successfully launched the carrier rocket “Zhuxue-2E Y4” into space on Wednesday from the launch site of the Dongfeng commercial space launch experimental innovation zone in northwest China.
The launch vehicle lifted off at 19:40 Beijing time and deployed 10 satellites into their designated orbits.
The flight test mission ended in complete success.
Among the launched spacecraft were eight satellites of the second group of the Star Compute project, developed by the commercial aerospace company Adaspace Technology Co., Ltd. /ADAspace/, designed to operate in sun-synchronous orbits along the terminator line.
According to ADAspace, these satellites carry payloads such as high-performance computing modules, equipment for high-speed laser communication between satellites and between satellite and Earth, and cameras for shooting in low light conditions.
The devices will conduct orbital testing of key technologies, including a 10,000-watt liquid cooling loop, ultra-large deployable radiative cooling panels, an all-encompassing laser communication network, and training of foundational large models.
ADAspace announced plans to conduct orbital tests of satellites from the second group, advance technological iteration, and stimulate technological and industrial innovations in the field of space computing.
Star Compute is a large-scale project to create a space infrastructure for artificial intelligence, consisting of 2800 computing satellites. The project’s first group of satellites was successfully launched in May 2025. The third group of satellites is planned to be launched into orbit in 2026.
