At the meeting of the organizing committee of the All-Russian professional skills competition “Best in Profession,” preliminary results of the 2026 competition were summarized and the list of nominations for 2027 was approved.
The number of nominations in 2027 will remain the same – there will still be 25 of them.
“According to the labor market forecast of the economy, by 2032 the labor market will need about 12 million workers, and excluding unskilled workers and managers, 66% of this demand will be for workers with secondary vocational education. The high demand for workers is also confirmed by the number of vacancies for working professions: there are more than 1 million of them on the “Work in Russia” portal. The All-Russian competition “Best in Profession” popularizes in-demand working professions, encourages professional achievements, and forms a positive image of the working person through inspiring stories of participants. This year we increased the number of nominations to 25, added a special nomination for veterans and participants of the special military operation called “Second Start,” which has already become the most popular — regional stages were held by 63 subjects — as well as off-budget nominations based on employers’ requests. At the same time, we see opportunities for further development of the competition. Today the organizing committee approved the list of nominations for 2027 and gave instructions to improve the competition,” said Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
“Year after year, ‘Best in Profession’ continues to scale up. This year, the regional stages of the competition took place in 83 regions, and their total number compared to last year almost doubled—to 420. More than 2,100 companies sent their employees to participate in the competition this year, which is also twice last year’s results. Nearly 300,000 people have participated to date in business, career guidance, and other events of the competition. This figure is not yet final but already one and a half times greater than all of 2025,” noted Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov.
