Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, as part of the international specialized exhibition “Road-2026,” remotely inaugurated new and renovated road facilities in the Leningrad and Orenburg regions, the Republic of Crimea, and the Krasnodar Territory.

“Thanks to the systematic support from the President of Russia, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, successful work on the development of the country’s road network continues. Motor transport consistently occupies first place in the country in terms of freight volumes and, compared to other types of transport, ensures annual growth. This is facilitated not only by accessibility and economic efficiency but also by the high pace of road infrastructure renewal, which we maintain even despite the current difficult conditions. Our common task is to maintain it during the implementation of the national project ‘Infrastructure for Life.’ The strategic task is to ensure seamless logistics within the backbone network so that as many of our citizens as possible can benefit from quality roads. The facilities we are opening today are another important step in improving the quality of life. New roads reduce travel time, connect cities and regions, and improve road safety. I am confident that people will appreciate the renovated facilities accordingly,” said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the achieved results are a testament to the coordinated work of the entire Government team under the leadership of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Marat Khusnullin expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Construction, as well as to the regional teams headed by governors. Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister thanked the specialists who actively participate in road development. In conclusion, he congratulated everyone on the upcoming Road Workers’ Day, which is celebrated this year on October 18.

A new bypass of Alushta, 7.8 km long, has been opened in Crimea, which includes the construction of 9 artificial structures: a bridge over the Ulu-Uzen river, a viaduct, and 7 overpasses. This is one of the most heavily trafficked arteries in the region, also linked to the federal highway “Tavrida.” The bypass will allow transit traffic to be routed outside Alushta and reduce travel time between Simferopol and Yalta. The infrastructure project was implemented thanks to the state program “Socio-economic Development of the Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol.” Workers have now begun the next stage – constructing a 16.1 km section from Perevalnoye to Izobilnoye. The construction of road bypasses around settlements is being carried out by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

In the Leningrad region, a section of the A-181 “Scandinavia” highway from the village of Tolokonnikovo to the bypass of Vyborg was reconstructed. The road was expanded from two to four lanes, and a overpass, a two-level interchange, and an overhead pedestrian crossing were also built. The work was carried out as part of the development of the “North – South” corridor. The highway is of great importance for the development of the region, the Northwestern Federal District, and Russia as a whole. Increasing the traffic capacity of the highway section will allow more efficient distribution of traffic flows, minimize congestion during peak periods, and create a capacity reserve considering the projected growth in traffic intensity in the future.

In addition, a major overhaul was carried out on the section of the R-23 highway Saint Petersburg – Pskov – Pustoshka – Nevel – border with the Republic of Belarus in the Leningrad Region, which provides access to key settlements. The number of lanes was increased to four, the pavement was reinforced, and opposing traffic flows were separated by a barrier fence. Noise barriers were installed in populated areas, and pedestrian sidewalks were arranged. The modernization of this busy transportation artery has improved the accessibility of settlements in the Leningrad Region, reduced travel time, provided greater transport comfort, and also increased road traffic safety.

The major overhaul of a section of the M-5 “Ural” highway on the approach to Orenburg has also been completed. This is part of the international transport corridor Europe – Western China. Specialists expanded the number of lanes from two to four, which helped increase the capacity of the section. To enhance safety, road signs, barrier fences, lighting were installed, and traffic light control was organized.

In the Krasnodar region, as part of the national project “Infrastructure for Life,” two sections of the road connecting the village of Vyselki, the settlement of Beysuzhyok Vtoroy, and the village of Kirpilskaya have been repaired. The route provides residents with access to healthcare institutions, educational facilities, and agri-industrial enterprises. The repairs have improved road safety and traffic capacity, enhanced pedestrian infrastructure, strengthened transport connectivity between settlements, and ensured reliable logistics for agricultural producers.

The opening ceremony of the roads was also attended by the Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin, Deputy Minister of Transport Igor Kostyuchenko, head of the Federal Road Agency Roman Novikov, chairman of the board of the state company Avtodor Vyacheslav Petushenko, governor of Krasnodar Krai Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of Leningrad Oblast Alexander Drozdenko, governor of Orenburg Oblast Evgeny Solntsev, head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, deputy chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly on Transport and Transport Infrastructure Development Ruslan Lechkadzhiev, and first deputy general director of JSC VAD Viktor Perevalov.
