The first hospital school of the capital project “UchimZnayem” has opened in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. It appeared in the city of Anadyr with the support of Moscow experts. Training for 30 children undergoing long-term treatment will be conducted by eight teachers. This was reported by the press service of the capital. Department of Education and Science.
“The ‘WeLearnWeKnow’ project is entirely developed by metropolitan experts. The program expands every year. More than 70 hospital schools in over 40 regions of Russia, as well as other countries—Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan—operate according to the Moscow model. The opening ceremony of the school was attended by the governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug Vladislav Kuznetsov, the deputy project manager of “UchimZnayem” Ivan Doluev, the chief physician of the district hospital Emilia Ramazanova, and the director of school No. 1 in Anadyr Dmitry Mikhailov. On the same day, a robotics class was also held for the children.

Distance, prolonged treatment, or a serious diagnosis should not deprive a child of the opportunity to learn and plan for the future. We are pleased to welcome the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug to the large professional family of “UchimZnayem” hospital schools,” noted Sergey Sharikov, the project manager of the “UchimZnayem” hospital schools.
Before the opening of the hospital school, teachers underwent internships with the support of Moscow specialists. For example, last year, representatives from Chukotka participated in the VII All-Russian conference “UchimZnayem — Caring School.” They learned how to tailor the workload taking into account the child’s well-being, adapt assignments, and use game techniques to maintain interest in learning.
In the hospital school, each student follows a curriculum appropriate for their age and medical recommendations. Children study general education subjects, write tests, prepare for graduation exams, and participate in olympiads.
“UchimZnaem” is a social and educational project aimed at creating a comprehensive educational environment for children undergoing long-term treatment in medical hospitals. It was initiated by the order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and supported by the Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, in 2014. The first hospital school opened in the capital at the Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Immunology. Last year, such schools appeared in the Chechen Republic, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Republic of Buryatia. Since the project’s inception, more than 100,000 children have received education through it.
