The executives of PJSC “KAMAZ” are taking part in the business program of the “Public Transport-2026” forum, which opened today, October 14, in Moscow. The leading Russian engineering company traditionally acts as an official partner of this industry event and this year is showcasing the innovative next-generation KAMAZ-52222 A5 electric bus.

The forum is held annually and serves as a platform for consolidating the positions of the government and business in the field of public transport. The organizers are the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Within the framework of the forum’s business program, the leaders of KAMAZ will discuss the digital transformation of the industry and the prospects for large-scale renewal of passenger fleets in Russian regions, as well as present expert proposals for the development of environmentally friendly urban transport.

Deputy Director for Passenger Transport at PJSC KAMAZ Alexey Sergeev will participate in the session titled “We Are on the Same Path! A Joint Formula for Modernizing Public Transport: Interests of the Manufacturer, Regional Opportunities, Outcomes for Passengers.” The meeting will serve as a platform to develop joint solutions: how to adjust the mechanisms of state support and long-term orders so that the interests of industry and the capabilities of regional budgets transform into a new quality of life for city residents.

At the same time, at the exhibition in the Bauman Moscow State Technical University Congress Center, held in conjunction with the forum, the automotive giant is showcasing the innovative next-generation KAMAZ-52222 A5 electric bus. Serial production of this model began in 2025 by order of Mosgortrans – the largest urban ground passenger transport operator in Moscow. The electric bus has a passenger capacity of 85 people, including 35 seats. It is equipped with a Russian NMC battery, which allows it to travel up to 100 km without recharging. Safety is ensured by an electronic braking system with ABS, ASR, and hill-hold control.

For the first time in this model, outward-opening sliding-lean doors are used. This solution prevents passengers from getting caught and increases the interior space. All doors are electrically powered. A light indicator warning of door closing and opening has also been implemented. The width of the accumulation platform has been increased to 1380 mm, which meets European standards. The electric bus features an improved climate system with optimal air flow distribution.

The driver’s workspace has been modernized: the space has been increased, several convenient features have been added, including a heated steering wheel and an electronic parking brake. The driver’s seat has been equipped with enhanced functionality to improve comfort and reduce fatigue during the workday. It is especially noteworthy that since 2026, the transition to charging the electric bus via a contact rail has been made, which has significantly reduced the cost of both the KAMAZ electric bus itself and the charging infrastructure.

PJSC “KAMAZ” is successfully developing cooperation with Russian regions in the implementation of projects and comprehensive programs for the development of urban passenger transport. In addition, the company firmly maintains its position as the leader of the domestic electric bus market.
