MOSCOW — The Moscow Metro has begun a large-scale upgrade of its payment infrastructure. 100 ultra-modern payment terminals, developed and manufactured in the capital, have already been installed at 61 metro stations. The new equipment is designed to increase the efficiency of passenger service and ensure the highest level of financial data protection.

The new devices double the speed of ticket purchasing and card reloading thanks to enhanced performance and an intuitive interface. The equipment is equipped with the latest generation banking information security systems and is fully adapted to modern cashless payment standards.

All terminals are manufactured at the facilities of the special economic zone “Technopolis Moscow,” which guarantees complete technological independence and reliability of supply. The upgrade program provides for a phased replacement of the outdated fleet of machines with innovative domestic counterparts.

“By the order of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we continue to equip the metropolitan subway with city payment equipment. The updated terminals are manufactured in the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone. They feature modern banking security systems, allowing tickets to be purchased even more conveniently and quickly. It is planned to purchase about 2,000 units of equipment, which will gradually replace the machines with expiring service life,” said Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport Maxim Liksutov.
