Almaty, April 17 /Xin Hua/ — The volume of industrial production in Kazakhstan in January-March 2026 amounted to 15.177 trillion tenge (about 32.19 billion US dollars), which is 0.7 percent lower than the indicator for the same period in 2025. This was reported on Friday by the information agency Interfax-Kazakhstan with reference to the Bureau of National Statistics.

The decline is due to a slump in the mining industry and quarry development, where production decreased by 11.4%, to 6.25 trillion tenge / 13.25 billion dollars. The drop is associated with a reduction in crude oil extraction by 19.8% and natural gas by 15.1%.

At the same time, the processing industry demonstrated growth of 8.5%, reaching 7.56 trillion tenge (about 16 billion dollars). –0–
