On April 17, at the State University of Management, the VI All-Russian KVN School began its work, organized by the State University of Management with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation and the Television Creative Association “AMIK”.

120 students from 1st to 4th year courses from 38 regions of Russia, from Kaliningrad to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, gathered at GUE to undergo training and understand that KVN is not just a game, but a cultural code of the entire post-Soviet space and a bridge between generations.

At the opening, participants were greeted by the advisor to the rectorate of GUU Sergey Chuev, who spoke about the university’s history and shared his perspective on students, having more than 20 years of teaching experience.

“The KVN School is an opportunity to get acquainted. Whatever results it brings, the main thing here is communication. And KVN is a tadpole pond, where big frogs grow from tadpoles: actors, producers, directors, deputies,” noted Sergey Chuev.

The first major event of the School was a plenary session with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the television creative association “AMIK,” and KVN alumni. The session was moderated by the pro-rector of GUE, Pavel Pavlovsky.

By videoconference, Olga Petrova, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education and Science, greeted the participants, thanking them for not sitting still but taking part in the KVN movement.

“Today the ministry actively tries to support KVN, because this corresponds to the overall direction of national policy. The club is cheerful and lively — it is a powerful school of life that teaches how to quickly react to complex life situations. We are very grateful to the GUU leadership for their deep personal involvement in the development of this movement and the opening of a specialized Methodological Center based at the university. Together, we will continue to create opportunities in every university in the country to engage in KVN, which will morally and spiritually enrich young people and, prospectively, millions of viewers.”

Deputy General Director of TTO “AMIK”, Director of the Methodological Center for the Study and Development of the KVN Movement in OOVO at the basis of GUU Viktor Vdovichenko emphasized the importance of patriotic education, which also enables participation in the KVN movement.

“Many think that KVN is just an entertainment show. But it is a large-scale and multifaceted phenomenon. We live in difficult times, so for several years after each season of the Higher League, we travel with the teams to perform at military units. Sometimes we are even on the front line. We understand that we must support the fighters and the whole country. Today, a fun game has a serious mission, which should not be forgotten.”

The Vice-Rector of GUU Pavel Pavlovsky emphasized that KVN has a significant influence on the participants of the movement, who will determine the future of the country in many areas.

“KVN is more than just a game. It is creative industries, television, computer games, actors, politicians. KVN is a domestic intellectual show, a special way of shaping personalities and an important part of state youth policy. At the KVN school, we will show you the difference in approaches and views on the same phenomenon. Of course, most of the time you will be coming up with jokes, making friends, etc., while at the same time forming your own viewpoint and opinion, and the result of these thoughts we will see in a few years.”

For three days, students from all over the country will attend lectures by editors of the International KVN Union, together with curators from television leagues, learning to write jokes, come up with concepts, understand the nuances of the organizational process and acting. At the end, there will be a showcase game where the participants will present their own performances to experienced KVN players.
