As part of the celebration of National Unity Day, the Vykhino gallery invites you to a free screening of the Soviet animated film “Swans of Nepryadva.”
This is a historical-patriotic film created by the Soviet animation director Roman Davydov at the Soyuzmultfilm studio. The screenplay was written by Arkady Snesarev, who initially wrote it in a byliny-romantic style, largely drawing on the stylistics of “The Tale of Igor’s Campaign”.
The visual series was created by production artists Alexander Vinokurov and Nikolai Erykalov: the images are built at the intersection of classic Soviet animation and monumental ancient Russian painting, with detailed elaboration of armor, weapons, and landscapes of medieval Rus’. The epic atmosphere was created by composer Vladimir Krivtsov — his music emphasizes the tragedy of the Tatar-Mongol yoke and the triumph of the unification of the Russian lands.
