Find and pre-book a free parking space, turn leftover plastic from 3D printing into new raw material, or detect pests in a greenhouse in time — such tasks are offered to be solved by participants of the 10th, anniversary batch of the “Academy of Innovators“. In total, they presented more than 400 technological projects, from which experts selected 100 for further acceleration. Among them are solutions for urban infrastructure, industry, ecology, education, medicine, and everyday services.

“The anniversary cohort of the ‘Academy of Innovators’ brought together 1,770 participants from 59 cities across Russia. More than half of the teams already have a working version or a finished product. After acceleration, the participants’ projects will be prepared for the market — for further sales, finding customers, and attracting investors,” she said

Kristina Kostroma, the head of the capital’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development.

From parking lots to table tennis

Among the projects are solutions that can make familiar city services more convenient. For example, the “GetPark” app offers to combine free spaces in private and underground parking lots. Drivers will be able to choose options near the desired address, and parking space owners can rent them out when they are not in use.

The team behind the “PongGo” project is developing a network of table tennis tables with automatic equipment dispensing. To start a game, a user simply needs to scan a code and pay for the time. Rackets and balls can be obtained right at the table. It is equipped with an electronic scoreboard, a camera, and sensors. In the future, the developers plan to add the ability to save exciting moments of matches and find opponents. The first pilot station is already operating at the Skolkovo Innovation Center.

From waste recycling to AI-based services

Several teams presented developments for the production and rational use of materials. The “Filaminator” project is a desktop machine that produces filament for 3D printers and 3D pens. Polymer granules and some plastic waste, including residues from 3D printing, are suitable for this. Thus, the material can be returned to the production cycle and reused.

Another team is developing eco-friendly flame retardants for coatings of children’s and sports playgrounds. A special compound is added to polyurethane adhesive to reduce its flammability and slow the spread of fire. The effectiveness of the development has already been confirmed by laboratory tests.

The “Fedorovskie Skazki” project combines the production of non-alcoholic beverages with Russian folk traditions. The team creates a line of signature drinks, including fruit drinks without synthetic additives. The products are accompanied by characters and stories inspired by Russian folklore. The developers have already prepared character game cards and are working on voicing the fairy tales and creating cartoons.

Several teams are developing digital services based on artificial intelligence (AI). For example, the “Lamba” application collects the vehicle’s usage history, reminds the owner about maintenance, and provides recommendations based on the accumulated data.

The “To the employment center” service helps job seekers tailor their resumes for specific vacancies. Seven AI agents analyze employer requirements, select formulations, verify facts, and assist in preparing responses for multiple job offers simultaneously.

Donor search, pet care, and a smart greenhouse

Among the participants are teams developing services for pet owners. The project “Of One Blood” helps find donors for pets in need of blood transfusions. When searching, the system takes into account the animal’s medical indicators, the required volume of assistance, and location.

The “Shaggy Bro” app combines documents and health information of the pet, a vaccination and treatment schedule, nutrition recommendations, and a zooservice map. Based on this data, it creates an individual care plan for the animal.

The youngest author of a project that made it into the top hundred is 16 years old. Ivan Zhdanov presented the system “S.T.R.A.Z.H.N.I.K.”, which monitors the appearance of insects and climate conditions in greenhouses. The development will help agricultural enterprises promptly detect pests and respond to changes in plant growing conditions.

Among the selected projects, 55 are at the minimum viable product (MVP) stage, 23 teams have already created ready-made solutions, 21 are developing prototypes, and one is still working on the idea.

Most projects are related to educational, industrial, medical, as well as information and high-tech technologies.

Moscow teams presented 67 projects. Developments also came from Saint Petersburg, Tyumen, Kazan, and Krasnogorsk.

The youngest participant is 16 years old, the oldest is 52. The average age of the authors of the selected projects is 30.

Applications are open from October 13 for the 11th session of the “Academy of Innovators.” Participants must be authors of technological startups aged 14 and older. Applications are accepted until January 25 on the website i.moscow/academy.

The “Academy of Innovators” program is implemented by the autonomous non-profit organization “Human Capital Development”, subordinate to Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development of the city of Moscow.
