In the capital, traffic was opened along the entire length of Shelepikhinskaya Embankment. As part of the project, a new walking route two kilometers long was created. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Policy and Construction. Vladimir Efimov.
“The pedestrian embankment is located on the left bank of the Moscow River between the Akademik Korolev and Dorogomilovsky bridges. It has become a new attraction point for residents of the Presnensky and Khoroshevo-Mnevniki districts. On the upper level, bike and pedestrian lanes were created, children’s, sports, and observation areas were placed, as well as a dog-walking area. The lower level is suitable for leisurely walks by the water. An amphitheater was also built here, offering picturesque views of the river. In addition, shore reinforcement works were carried out: the total length of the retaining walls was about two kilometers,” said Vladimir Efimov.
In addition, as part of the improvement of the Shelepikhinskaya embankment, more than three kilometers of street and road network were built and reconstructed, and modern bus shelters for city transport were installed.
“In July of this year, on the opposite bank of the Moskva River, we opened the embankment between the Shelepikhinsky and Belorussky bridges, with a length exceeding 800 meters. Specialists arranged 1.9 kilometers of pedestrian and bicycle paths, equipped children’s and sports playgrounds. Thus, a single walking route was created, with well-maintained embankments on both banks connected by the Academician Korolev Bridge,” added the head of the Department of Transport and Engineering Infrastructure Construction of the city of Moscow.
On September 5, the Zvenigorodskaya metro station opened near the embankment Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Metro Line. The implementation of these projects has significantly improved the transport accessibility of Presnensky, Khoroshevo-Mnevniki, and neighboring districts.
Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin reported on opening Shelepikhinskaya Embankment after reconstruction.
