Since the launch of the new health care program “Moscow Checkup,” the first online stage has been completed by over 900 thousand residents of the capital. More than 260 thousand of them, that is almost every third, are young city dwellers under the age of 35. This was reported by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.
“Worldwide, increasing attention is being paid to preventive medicine and early detection of health risks. It is especially important that self-care becomes a habit even among young people. Moscow is aligning with this trend and offers its own approaches. One of our solutions is the ‘Moscow Checkup’ — a new health care program within the city’s philosophy of healthy longevity. It was created taking into account all the achievements of modern technologies, so that everyone can undergo a comprehensive examination and assess their health with minimal cost. Since its launch, more than 900,000 people have completed the first online stage of the program. Of these, over 260,000 — almost one in three — are young Muscovites aged 18 to 34. The most common risk factors among them were lack of physical activity and unbalanced nutrition. Each participant was assigned a personalized set of examinations from the extended Moscow package,” noted Anastasia Rakova.
The first stage of the checkup is conducted remotely via the “EMIAS. INFO” mobile application: the user fills out a questionnaire about their well-being and lifestyle, and if necessary, completes additional surveys. Citizens can also enter the results of functional tests and body composition data obtained using smart scales or bioimpedance devices available at city locations into the questionnaire.
After filling out the form, the system matches the data with information from electronic medical record and takes into account previously conducted studies and identified risk factors. Based on this, an individual list of necessary tests and examinations is automatically generated. This is not a standard solution, but an expanded package tailored to the specific patient.
You can sign up for examinations online through the “EMIAS.INFO” app, and undergo them at the city polyclinic. Based on the results, the participant will receive personalized recommendations. If any abnormalities are detected, the user will also be given a referral for additional consultation and in-depth diagnostics. The program is available to all adult Muscovites registered with city polyclinics.
Moscow has been engaged in the digitalization of the healthcare system for 15 years. The foundation of this process has become a unified digital platform, which is being developed by the capital’s authorities Department of Health and Department of Information Technology. The system they created reflects the philosophy of healthy longevity: thanks to digital solutions, doctors can continuously manage the patient from the first complaint and diagnosis through treatment, evaluation of its results, and subsequent monitoring. Such work corresponds to the objectives of the national project “A long and active life”. More details about Russia’s national projects and the capital’s contribution can be found at special page.
