In Moscow, on the Vodootvodny Canal, 17 floating fountains were dismantled in anticipation of the cold season. The work was carried out by specialists of the municipal utilities complex. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Petr Biryukov.
“The fountain operating season in the capital has ended, and we have begun activities to preserve the hydraulic structures for the winter period. We have prepared 17 floating fountain modules for winter, located on the Vodootvodny Canal on both sides of the pedestrian Tretyakovsky Bridge, between the Kadashevskaya and Bolotnaya embankments,” explained Pyotr Biryukov.
The fountain modules were dismantled using special equipment — a self-propelled pontoon and two crane manipulators. The equipment was taken to a warehouse where technical maintenance will be carried out and it will be prepared for the new season.
The head of the urban utilities complex recalled that in the spring of 2023, a major overhaul of this fountain complex took place. All 17 modules, pumping equipment, nozzles, underwater lighting, filtration systems, and pipelines were replaced. The power supply system and pumping equipment on the shore were also updated, the pump station premises were put in order, and modern video surveillance and dispatch systems were installed. As a result, the fountains began to work better, and new lighting colors were added to the water pattern.
