On October 10 and 11, at the Lower Pond in the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, which is subordinate to the capital Department of Culture, two sports events took place — the ‘Fast Dog’ cross-country race and the ‘Fox Mountain’ race. More than 1,400 people participated in the runs.

On October 10, the “Fast Dog” cross-country race took place, in which athletes covered a two-kilometer distance together with their pets. Dogs of any breed and size were allowed to participate, and for successfully completing the route, it was important for the runners not only to maintain speed but also to act in harmony with their four-legged partners.

The next day, October 11, the “Fox Mountain” cross-country race took place. Trail running enthusiasts covered distances from two to eight kilometers. The competition concluded with a four-by-one-kilometer relay. Teams of four ran a total of four kilometers, with participants taking turns every thousand meters.

Both cross-country races are held twice a year — in spring and autumn.

Events are organized with the support of Department of Sports of the City of Moscow. They correspond to the goals of the state programs of the Russian Federation «Development of Physical Culture and Sports» and “Sport of Russia”. One of their tasks is to increase the proportion of citizens regularly engaged in physical culture and sports to 70 percent by 2030. The capital makes a decisive contribution to solving this. Special attention is paid to the close location of infrastructure, support for families with children, as well as the integration into the sports community of participants and veterans of the special military operation and their families.
