The stage of the new drama theater will feature the play “One of the Last Evenings of Carnival” based on the eponymous comedy by Carlo Goldoni.

This play, performed in 1762, became a farewell. In the same year, the playwright, unable to withstand competition from another genius, Carlo Gozzi, permanently left Venice for Paris.

The hero of the story, a young artist named Andzoletto, also leaves his homeland — but he does not go to nearby Paris, rather to distant and mysterious Muscovy. He says goodbye to his friends, feels sad about the upcoming separation, but cannot refuse the journey: his creative ambition drives him on the road. The young man wants his beloved Domenica to travel to Russia with him. But she cannot leave her old father, the manufacturer Dzamaria, alone.

However, they will still go to Muscovy. But not alone; rather, two pairs will go there. Who the second pair is remains a question of the play.
