Free running workouts are available to residents of the capital as part of the “My Sports District” project. They help maintain energy and strengthen health during the autumn period.

At the Luzhniki Olympic Complex, runners are expected on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 19:30, and on Sundays at 10:00. The same schedule, except for Tuesday, applies at the Ostankino Natural-Historical Park, on the First May Day alley in Veshnyaki, at the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve, the Southern Butovo Landscape Park, Zelenograd near building 904, the 50th Anniversary of October Park, Severnoye Tushino, the 850th Anniversary of Moscow Park, Khodynskoye Field, and the Avangard Stadium in Perovo. Sessions are conducted under the guidance of experienced trainers, and all those over 16 years old are welcome to participate in the project for the first time.

“Running is not a way to escape from difficulties, but an opportunity to temporarily step out of the usual cycle of tension and reconnect with yourself. The rhythm of steps and breathing helps to shift attention to the present, reduce the subjective feeling of stress, and feel that the body becomes a support again. Physical activity also provides the body with a physiological way to experience the stress response: cortisol is not a ‘harmful’ hormone, but part of a normal adaptation system that mobilizes energy for movement. With regular moderate exercise, the body gradually learns to respond more flexibly to tension and recover more effectively afterwards. It is important not to turn running into another demand on yourself: a comfortable pace, a manageable distance, and enjoyment of movement are often more beneficial than racing for results. And running with company can additionally provide a sense of support and make caring for mental health a sustainable habit,” noted Valeriya Zakurazhnaya, physician at Psychiatric Clinical Hospital No. 1 named after N.A. Alekseev.

Within the framework of the “My Sports District” project, you can not only train regularly but also join the “Running Culture” club. Its unique feature lies in combining sports and cultural leisure: during runs, participants admire cityscapes, take photos for social media, and listen to stories from an invited expert. The themes of the routes alternate: one run is dedicated to a healthy lifestyle, the next to cultural aspects. The club meetings are held every three weeks from May to October, on Saturdays or Sundays, and announcements of new routes are published on the official project pages on social networks.

To participate in the training sessions, simply choose a convenient venue and sign up for project website. Each session lasts 60 minutes. It is recommended to arrive 5–10 minutes before the start to have time to prepare. For a comfortable run, it is necessary to choose comfortable sportswear and shoes according to the weather and bring a bottle of water with you.
