In Krasnodar, the construction of a new student dormitory complex for Kuban State University (KubSU), a leading university in Southern Russia specializing in training experts in state and municipal administration, has been completed. A certificate of compliance with the project documentation requirements has been obtained. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
“Developing modern infrastructure for students is an important part of advancing the higher education system. For students, it is necessary to create not only modern academic buildings but also a comfortable living environment. The new dormitory complex at KubSU is designed to accommodate 500 people. The rooms for living, a dining area, medical facilities, an assembly hall, and landscaped grounds have been equipped. Such facilities help to form a comprehensive educational environment for young people from different regions of the country,” said Marat Khusnullin.
The total area of the complex is about 15,000 sq. m. It includes two 17-story residential blocks – “A” and “B” – and a 4-story administrative block “C.” The new facility is located next to the two-story building of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Communication Studies of KubSU.
“All three buildings of the complex are connected by above-ground walkways, which will allow students and university staff to comfortably move between residential and administrative spaces regardless of weather conditions. The territory around the complex has been landscaped, and necessary elements for organizing the space for the daily presence of students have been provided. All solutions are implemented with the main objective of the project in mind – to create for students a comfortable and modern environment not only for living but also for a full university life,” noted Karen Oganesyan, General Director of PPK “Unified Customer.”
The residential rooms of the buildings are equipped with all necessary furniture. Kitchens and showers are provided on each floor.
Kuban State University was founded in Krasnodar in 1920. More than 30 thousand students from all over Russia and other countries of the world study within the institution.
