In Krasnoyarsk, a solemn award ceremony was held for the winners and prize-winners of the VI International Olympiad on Financial Security. Among the distinguished participants were students from the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade and the Engineering and Construction Institute of SPbPU.
The International Olympiad on Financial Security is held with the support of Rosfinmonitoring and the Government of the Russian Federation and is one of the most significant events in the field of training specialists to counter global threats to the financial system. The Olympiad has become a platform for the international financial security movement, which has already been joined by more than six million participants.
In 2026, the final gathered nearly 700 participants from 45 countries, and 219 people from 35 nations became winners and prize-winners. The Olympiad traditionally has a practice-oriented nature, and its events were devoted to current issues of applying artificial intelligence in the field of financial security.
Four students represented Polytech in the final, who were able not only to test their knowledge but also to communicate with employers, participate in master classes, panel discussions, sports and cultural events, and meetings with experts in the field of financial security.
Representatives of IPMEiT participated as experts in the final events of the Olympiad — Olga Nadezhina, Director of the Higher School of Public Administration, Irina Blagova, Associate Professor of the Higher School of Public Administration, and Grigory Kulkayev, Assistant of the Higher School of Public Administration.
The winners in the “Economics” category were fourth-year students of the Higher School of Public Administration, studying in the specialty “Economic Security” — Alevtina Getmanskaya and Evgeny Ramsh.
The final of the VI International Olympiad on Financial Security allowed me to apply the knowledge gained during my studies. It is worth noting that the previously completed courses helped me achieve such a result. The events within the Olympiad provided an opportunity to meet students from various Russian and foreign universities, as well as exchange experiences with them. Furthermore, the master classes, lectures, and panel discussions held at the Olympiad expanded my knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence application in financial monitoring, which, I believe, will positively affect my professional activity,” noted Alevtina Getmanskaya.
Among the winners of the final stage in the “Jurisprudence” category are Anastasia Zavodunova, a first-year master’s student at the Higher Engineering and Economic School, and Nikita Anisimov, a fifth-year student at the Higher School of Industrial, Civil, and Road Construction.
Participating in the final of the International Olympiad on Financial Security was for me not only a test of professional knowledge but also a unique opportunity to exchange experiences with representatives from different countries. The tasks related to the use of artificial intelligence in financial monitoring require a comprehensive approach, and I am glad that the training I received at VIEWS allowed me to represent the university with dignity at the international level. I am confident that the skills acquired at the Olympiad will find application in my future career in the field of quantitative finance,” noted Anastasia Zavodunova.
Traditionally, all finalists and experts during the final week were able to participate in the International Forum on Financial Security “Youth Future: Time of Technologies,” the central theme of which was issues of trust in new technologies, advanced educational practices, changes in the financial sector, technology, and security.
Anyone interested was also able to test their knowledge level at the III International Financial Security Dictation — a large-scale educational campaign aimed at raising awareness among young people and people of all ages about issues in the field of financial security. For the third year in a row, Polytech has acted as co-organizer of this event. This year, the initiative managed to bring together more than 90,000 participants from Russia and other countries.
As part of the Olympiad, a career guidance event for high school students called “CLASS Hour: How to Enter the University of Your Dreams” was held at the Physics and Mathematics School of the Siberian Federal University. Polytechnic was represented at the event by the assistant of VSHGU Grigory Kulkaev. Following the voting, Polytechnic received a diploma in the category “CLASS University.”
In addition, the professors of the Higher School of Public Administration completed the advanced training program for the teaching staff of universities of the International Network Institute, held as part of the olympiad. This year, the course was dedicated to the topic of combating money laundering and terrorism financing in the context of the development of artificial intelligence.
The participation of Polytech in the olympiad was commented on by the director of VSHGU Olga Nadezhina: The International Olympiad on Financial Security, as part of the international movement, is an important step in shaping a financially literate generation capable of resisting fraud and strengthening the resilience of the financial system. The high results of our students at the international level are achieved through systematic preparation that combines fundamental knowledge with practical skills. It is especially valuable that the olympiad was dedicated to the application of artificial intelligence in financial monitoring—a field that determines the future of countering financial threats. We are proud of our students and confident that the experience gained will become a solid foundation for their professional careers.
