Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to write off two-thirds of the Belgorod Region’s budget loan debt amounting to 2.8 billion rubles.

The freed resources will be directed towards the region’s key needs.

Commenting on the decision made at the meeting with the Deputy Prime Ministers on October 5, Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that the Government will continue to assist the regions in reducing budgetary debt and instructed his colleagues to constantly monitor the financial situation of the subjects under the supervision of the federal districts.

The write-off of part of the debt on budget loans has become an effective mechanism for supporting regions. In 2026, more than 80% of the entities have already taken advantage of this opportunity and, using the freed-up funds, were able to update public transport, relocate citizens from dilapidated housing, modernize communal infrastructure, implement infrastructure projects for the development of key settlements, and support organizations managing territories with preferential tax regimes.
