Today, NSU launched the cross-university expertise (CUE) of the Priority-2030 development program. Over two days, the university team, which includes the rector, vice-rectors, heads of strategic technological projects, scientific units, and industrial partners of the university — a total of more than 80 people — is working on several directions: “Target university model,” “New educational model,” “Science, innovation, and commercialization,” and “Strategic technological project ‘Biomedical Center’ as a model of university transformation.”

At the opening of the event, the rector of NSU, a corresponding member of the RAS, spoke Dmitry Pyshny. He emphasized the university’s development strategy and how the NSU model has evolved since its founding. The university, originally created with the aim of training personnel for science, gradually transformed into a research institution where the volume of scientific activity equaled the volume of educational activity. Now, NSU’s strategy is focused on building a science and technology university, in which innovations, developments, and technologies will play a significant role.

Separately, Dmitry Pyshny focused on the strategic technological projects being developed by NSU within the framework of the “Priority-2030” program — the creation of the “Center for Integration of Personalized Biomedicine, Pharmacy, and Synchrotron Binary Technologies”; “AI for production means and automation of industry and urban environment”; “Neural network technologies for processing target information onboard spacecraft and controlling UAVs,” and he paid attention to infrastructure — commissioning new campus buildings — the educational and scientific center of the NSU Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies (IMMT) and a research center, which open additional opportunities for the development of educational and scientific-technological directions.

After the rector’s speech, representatives of the groups Olga Yakovleva, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Activities, Svetlana Sablina, vice-rector for academic affairs, Vitaly Prokopyev, head of the Department of Aerospace Research, and Mikhail Khvostov, Deputy Director Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies of NSU on biomedical research and pharmacy, identified the main problem areas, talked about the current state of project implementation, and presented the key challenges within the fields they oversee.

Experts from the FSBI “Sociocenter” help solve tasks during the Quality Management Events and coordinate the work of the groups — Alexander Belov, deputy head of the research center of fundamental medicine of the educational and scientific institute of fundamental medicine named after V.I. Pokrovsky of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Russian Medical University” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Anna Shapieva, director of the development program directorate of FSBEI HE “Transbaikal State University”, and Elena Kharisova, Vice-Rector for Prospective Projects of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), General Director of the Development Fund of the Innovative Scientific and Technological Center “Russky”.

Elena Kharisova set the task for the group work. At the first stage, the main task will be to identify gaps that act as obstacles to achieving the goal, with each one confirmed by a fact, having a cause, and leading to a managerial decision. At the second stage, the university team will work on shaping the vision of the future: what the university should be like in 2030/2036. At the end of the event, it will be necessary to compile all the decisions into a plan to be implemented in the near future — what will be done by the end of 2026 and what results we will see in 2027.
