Denis, a participant in Moscow fairs who sells natural canned goods and meat products at several venues in the capital, provides regular support to the fighters of the special military operation (SMO). Together with his wife, he assembles and sends them parcels with long-lasting goods. The sets include not only his own range from Moscow fairs but also products requested by the fighters.
Denis strives to keep in touch with his fellow countrymen on the front lines and is always happy to meet them when they visit their hometown. The entrepreneur does not wait for requests through chats and groups but independently finds out what kind of help is currently most needed.
“Word of mouth often works faster than communities, and besides, this way you can send a package to a specific person. I do this not just for show, but sincerely and for our shared future with these guys,” he noted.
Denis marks each package with the military unit number and the soldier’s call sign to ensure the aid reaches the intended recipient.
The participant of the fair does not like to talk about the volumes and contents of the parcels. He admits that he avoids publicity on this matter: he does not seek recognition and simply does what he considers his duty.
According to Denis, the soldiers’ requests are quite modest. The main thing is that the products do not break or spoil: the journey of the parcels can be long, and the transportation conditions are difficult. Most often, the soldiers ask for canned stew and condensed milk. Among the latest requests was vacuum-packed lard. This nutritious product does not spoil quickly and weighs less than tin cans, so it is convenient to take with you.
At the Moscow fairs, products from more than 40 regions of Russia can be found. Places are provided to participants free of charge. Suppliers are responsible for the quality and freshness of the goods, and before the products reach the shelf, they are inspected by specialists. the state veterinary service of the city of Moscow.
