In the Novomoskovsky Administrative District of the capital, they have begun current repairs on the Vnukovo-Central transport tunnel. Specialists are conducting the work urban utility complex. This was told by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Pyotr Biryukov.
“Special attention is paid to the maintenance of engineering structures, all facilities undergo regular inspections, and if necessary, a decision is made to carry out major or routine repairs. Repairs have begun on the Vnukovo-Central transport tunnel, which is located in the Vnukovo settlement at the intersection of Central Street and Designed Passage No. 6702,” noted Petr Biryukov.
Traffic will not be completely closed during the repair; phased lane closures are planned.
According to the project, the old wall cladding in the tunnel will be replaced with new ‘frieze’ type cladding. For this, a metal frame will first be installed, and then cladding panels will be attached to it. This system improves the appearance of the structure, as well as extends its service life due to its resistance to moisture. The total work area will be about 5,400 square meters.
Over the past 14 years, every bridge facility in the capital has undergone various types of repairs, which has extended their service life and created more comfortable conditions for drivers and pedestrians.
