The VII International Conference “Global Challenges of Digital Market Transformation” (GDTM-2026) was held at the Polytechnic University. The organizers were three departments of the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade: the Graduate School of Production Management, the Graduate School of Service and Trade, and the Department of Economic Theory.

At the opening of the plenary session, the head of the rector’s administrative office, Vladimir Glukhov, emphasized the importance of holding such events: The Polytechnic University has always been a center for discussing current issues in the development of industry, management, and the economy. Today, the main task is to connect science, engineering and technological solutions, as well as the practice of enterprises, in order to train specialists capable of effectively adapting to technological changes and digital transformation.

The geography of participants included representatives from 18 Russian and 10 foreign universities from Armenia, Belarus, India, and Indonesia. Also, the conference participants included representatives from three Russian scientific institutions and nine enterprises and organizations, which confirms the scientific and applied nature of the discussions and debates.

For the third consecutive year, the conference is held jointly with the Institute of Economics and Business of the Russian-Armenian University (RAU) as part of the section “Current issues of modern management, economics, and service sector in the context of digital transformation: theory and practice.” On behalf of the conference co-organizer, the head of the Human Resources Management Department of RAU, Kristine Ginosyan, delivered a welcome speech: “For us, participation as co-organizers in the international scientific conference ‘Global Challenges of Digital Market Transformation’— this is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, exchange research experience, and discuss current trends in higher education development. This year, more than 30 participants from RAU applied for the section. The discussion of reports dedicated to the key areas of digital transformation of Armenia’s economy and the development of intelligent technologies in management made it possible to comprehensively consider the impact of modern technologies on managerial, economic, and social processes, as well as to identify promising directions for cooperation between SPbPU and RAU.

The head of the Department of Management and Business at the Institute of Economics and Business of RAU, Ripsime Kodzhoyan, delivered a plenary report on the peculiarities of forming a university ecosystem in the Republic of Armenia under digitalization conditions. For the Polytechnic University, this means, above all, synchronization with the real sector. As confirmed by the plenary session, the university takes on the role of an integrator: we establish a direct connection between our partners, educational programs, and specific business tasks.

“Our department held a section on ‘Controlling in Economics, Production Organization, and Management.’ The reports and discussions confirmed the industry’s high demand for practice-oriented solutions and the development of new competencies among controlling specialists in the context of digitalization and the transition to a data economy. I would like to specifically note that at Bauman Moscow State Technical University, our department teaches the course ‘Production Organization,’ relying on textbooks by professors of the Polytechnic University, Sergey Sokolitsin and Osip Neporent. I am confident that the dialogue that took place will contribute to the development of further cooperation between our universities and the professional community.”, — commented on the work of the section the head of the Department of Economics and Production Organization at Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Sergey Falko.
