Kyiv, April 16 /Synghua/ — According to the results, in 2026 Ukraine’s gross domestic product (GDP) will increase by 2 percent compared to 1.8 percent recorded last year, while in 2027 the growth of the Ukrainian economy will accelerate to 3.5 percent. This forecast, as reported on Wednesday by the news agency Interfax-Ukraine, is contained in the April review of the world economy by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
At the IMF, it is also expected that inflation in Ukraine will decrease from last year’s 8 percent to 7.5 percent this year, and in the following year slow down to 7 percent.
As for unemployment, the fund forecasts a decrease in its level from 11.6% last year to 10.2% this year, but an increase to 12% next year.
At the end of January, the National Bank /Central Bank/ of Ukraine lowered the country’s GDP growth forecast for 2026 from 2 percent to 1.8 percent. At the same time, in 2027, the regulator expects the economy to grow by 2.8 percent.
