On the Day of the Reunification of the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions with Russia, Dmitry Chernyshenko instructed to ensure their active participation in the championship movement.

A meeting of the organizational committee for holding professional skill championships was held at the Government Coordination Center under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

During it, they discussed the results of the recent events: the “Professionals” championship in Nizhny Novgorod and Kaluga, the “Abilympics” professional skills championship among participants of the special military operation in Kazan, the final of the High Technologies Championship in Veliky Novgorod, as well as the readiness for holding the national “Abilympics” championship in Moscow and “Professionals” in Saint Petersburg.

The event was attended by Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov, Deputy Minister of Education Andrey Nikolaev, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Defense, Chairman of the State Fund “Defenders of the Fatherland” Anna Tsivileva, Deputy Minister of Transport Konstantin Pashkov, General Director of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization “National Priorities” Sofia Malyavina, Hero of Russia, Chairman of the Board of the “Movement of the First”, participant of the “Time of Heroes” program Artur Orlov, deputy heads of regions, and representatives of partner organizations of the project.

“As President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin notes, the state prioritizes the training of qualified and competitive workers. An important tool here is the championship movement, which is developing thanks to the national project ‘Youth and Children.’ Championships are not just competitions. They help develop new federal educational standards, in-demand student training programs, and teacher retraining programs. Every year, the movement’s popularity grows. This year, more than 550 thousand contestants participated in it, including representatives from 41 foreign countries. More than a thousand people competed for the title of the best in the finals. They had the opportunity to find employers and receive cash prizes,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

The head of the Ministry of Education Sergey Kravtsov emphasized that these days, finalists are undergoing tests of the All-Russian competition of pedagogical achievements “Master of the Year” in Novy Urengoy. The name of the absolute winner will traditionally be announced on October 2 – on the Day of Secondary Vocational Education.

“This year, with the active participation of the regions, we have successfully held a number of competitions, including the High Technology Championship, specialized stages of the ‘Professionals’ championship in the industrial sector in Kaluga, as well as contests for participants of the special military operation. By the end of the year, we still have two large-scale events to hold: from October 31 to November 3, the final of the national ‘Abilympics’ championship will take place in Moscow, and from November 30 to December 5, Saint Petersburg will host the final of the ‘Professionals’ championship. Today, all the largest companies note that the domestic championship movement, the quality of its organization, and the level of competencies far exceed past standards. We have completely reoriented the championships toward the real demands of our country’s economy,” emphasized Sergey Kravtsov.

State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Defense, Chairperson of the State Fund “Defenders of the Fatherland” Anna Tsivileva spoke about the involvement of SVO participants in the Abilympics championship.

“For veterans of the special military operation who have suffered serious injuries, returning to civilian life is a new, challenging stage. Participation in championship activities helps to start this path with greater confidence: it provides the opportunity to reveal one’s abilities, gain knowledge, master an in-demand profession, and find new opportunities for self-realization. This summer in Kazan, we held separate professional skills competitions among veterans. The State Fund ‘Defenders of the Fatherland’ will also take part in the final events of the championship cycle in November. Additionally, we proposed a number of initiatives aimed at improving our cooperation and further developing the championship movement. We are confident that combining experience and resources will create even more opportunities for special military operation veterans to achieve professional fulfillment and fully return to active life,” noted Anna Tsivileva.

Dmitry Chernyshenko supported the proposed initiatives for the development of the championship movement, and also on the Day of the Reunification of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Luhansk People’s Republic, the Zaporizhzhia Region, and the Kherson Region with the Russian Federation, September 30, he instructed to ensure the active participation of these historic regions in the championship movement.

Deputy Minister of Education Andrey Nikolaev reported that from 2023 to 2026, the number of contestants in the “Professionals” movement has increased almost fourfold. In 2026, competitions are organized in nearly 300 unique competencies created with the participation of employers – there are already more than 10,000 of them involved in the movement. This year alone, they have provided 50,000 internships with the possibility of subsequent employment for the most talented participants.

Representatives of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod, Kaluga regions, the Republic of Tatarstan, Moscow, and Saint Petersburg spoke about the preparation and conduct of the championships.

Representatives of the leading partner organizations of the project, including Rostec, Natsproektstroy, and Russian Railways JSC, delivered reports on the results and plans for the development of the championship movement.

For example, the HR director of the state corporation “Rostec”, Yulia Tsvetkova, spoke about the experience of organizing the corporate championship of working and engineering professions “Time of the First” and participating in federal championships, including “Professionals” and “Abilympics”.

Deputy Head of the Human Resources Management Department of JSC “Russian Railways” Alexander Zbarsky, in turn, reported that thanks to their organization, in 2026, 3,200 people were enrolled in secondary vocational education under the new targeted admission mechanism. He also made a number of proposals regarding the championship movement, including organizing competitions for labor dynasties.
