The 8th International Youth Conference on Radio Electronics, Electrical and Power Engineering (REEPE—2026) took place at the National Research University “MPEI”. The event is held to exchange scientific knowledge, discuss current engineering challenges, and develop international scientific cooperation among young specialists.
The conference annually brings together students, graduate students, and young researchers working in the fields of electric power engineering, computer technology, mechanical engineering, and other engineering disciplines. Participants present the results of their research, discuss modern technological solutions, and receive expert evaluation of their scientific developments. The working language of the event is traditionally English, which facilitates the expansion of international scientific dialogue.
In the Power, Energy and Industry Applications section, dedicated to issues of energy and the industrial application of electrical engineering solutions, the university was represented by students of the School of High-Voltage Power Engineering and the School of Electrical Power Systems of the Energy Institute of SPbPU: Elizaveta Burtseva, Yulia Markovskaya, and Valeria Ugolkova. Their presentations demonstrated a high level of training and the relevance of the research conducted, aimed at solving practical problems of modern energy.
Elizaveta Burtseva prepared a report on the article “Investigation of the Metrological Performance of Power Quality and Energy Meter with IEC 61850-9-2 LE Support.” The work provides a detailed examination of the metrological characteristics of measuring instruments used for accounting and controlling the quality of electrical energy. Special attention is given to the requirements for such devices when creating highly automated digital substations, which makes the study significant in the context of the digitalization of the electric power industry.
Yuliya Markovskaya gave a report titled “Power Quality Analysis Including the Regulatory Limitation for Current Harmonics,” dedicated to the analysis of electrical energy quality in the power supply system of a pharmaceutical enterprise. The study is based on a modern method of evaluating harmonic distortions of currents and voltages and takes into account regulatory limitations imposed on electrical network parameters. The work was awarded a diploma of the II degree.
According to the results of the conference, both articles are recommended for publication in the international electronic library IEEE Xplore, indexed in the Scopus database, which is an important indicator of a high level of research conducted and compliance with international scientific standards.
Participation in the conference allowed the female students of Politechnical not only to present their work to the international scientific community, but also to gain valuable experience in scientific communication, as well as to establish professional contacts with colleagues from other universities and countries.
