More than 200,000 units of equipment from the capital’s brand “MosTech” are used in city departments and schools. These are all-in-one computers, laptops, interactive panels, and IP phones, which the city produces in collaboration with leading domestic companies. In Department of Information Technology of the City of Moscow they told how the capital is developing its own equipment brand and cooperating with the Russian IT market.
“To ensure the stability of work and study processes, we are developing our own equipment brand ‘MosTech.’ This allows us not to depend on foreign suppliers and vendors. For example, already over 147 thousand laptops, interactive panels, and all-in-one computers of the ‘MosTech’ brand have been supplied to schools in the capital; nearly 50 thousand laptops and all-in-one computers of the city’s brand, as well as about five thousand ‘MosTech’ IP phones, have been supplied to the healthcare system and city departments. Moscow is developing its brand through close cooperation with Russian IT companies that are ready to develop and supply equipment with the necessary components and that meet the required standards. For companies, this is also a certain quality check, as the environment of the Moscow Government is one with high demands for hardware and software,” said Alexey Anisimov, Deputy Head of the Department of Information Technology of the city of Moscow.
Moscow produces equipment under the brand “MosTech” since 2023. The laptops feature a modern design, equipped with screens that offer good color reproduction and wide viewing angles. All-in-one PCs are workstations that combine a computer, display, and audio system in a single slim case. Interactive panels combine the functions of several smart devices: a touch screen, a digital whiteboard, and a full-fledged computer.
The devices run on the capital’s operating systems: in schools — on the operating system “Moscow Electronic School“, in the departments — on “MosTech.OS.” They come with the “MosTech.Office” office suite, an email client, and tools for video conferencing. The RAM capacity of laptops and all-in-ones is from eight gigabytes, and the storage capacity is from 256 gigabytes. Connectors are provided for additional devices (for example, for a keyboard or mouse), as well as audio jacks.
In 2026, IP phones of the brand “MosTech” began to be supplied to capital institutions. The device has four SIP lines: multiple numbers on one device allow receiving calls on different lines and seeing who is calling and to which number. This is convenient for managers or hotline employees. The device’s phonebook can store up to two thousand entries.
Devices of the “MosTech” brand are specially designed for government institutions, schools, and offices where order in the workplace and equipment reliability are important. They can seamlessly integrate into the IT infrastructure of government and educational institutions.
Partners of the Moscow brand “MosTech”
One of the first partners of the “MosTech” brand was the Russian technology company Yadro, which develops the Kvadra client device brand. As part of the cooperation, it supplies laptops and all-in-one PCs under the “MosTech” brand for city schools, medical institutions, and state service centers “My Documents”. The devices adapt to the customer’s requirements for configuration, software, and usage scenarios.
The CEO of Kvadra, Dmitry Cherkasov, noted that cooperation with Moscow is an example for the company of how a strategic partner and a Russian technology vendor can jointly develop the city’s modern IT infrastructure. According to him, such work involves adapting devices to the existing infrastructure and specific usage scenarios in various urban institutions and schools. For the brand, this is one of the key principles of working with partners.
With the leading Russian computer manufacturer “ICL Techno,” based in Tatarstan, the Moscow Department of Information Technologies supplied 15,000 laptops of the “MosTech” brand to 143 capital schools to equip computer labs and provide the technical capability to conduct computer-based testing for students in grades 9-11. In addition, the company equipped 407 schools with 1,500 smart carts with a charging system, which turn any classroom into a mobile computer lab. This solution significantly simplifies the organization of the educational process, allowing a workspace for an entire class to be quickly deployed without the need to lay a fixed electrical network to each device.
The company’s Commercial Director, Ildar Vagizov, said that the company’s task is to provide students and teachers with tools that work reliably and without fail. According to him, it is especially important that the company delivered not just laptops, but a comprehensive solution. Smart carts with a centralized charging system guarantee that the equipment is always ready for class, relieving this burden from IT specialists and teachers.
Another partner of the Moscow brand “MosTech” became the group of companies (GC) “Aquarius” — one of the largest Russian developers and manufacturers of computing equipment. Within the framework of cooperation, 30,000 laptops were supplied to 264 Moscow schools. The devices are used for conducting independent diagnostics and monitoring academic performance.
“The development of the digital educational environment is a task where technological solutions must meet high standards of reliability and scalability. Cooperation with Moscow allows us to build production processes taking into account the specifics of urban infrastructure and to develop approaches applicable to projects of such scale,” commented Arkady Sokolov, Deputy General Director of Aquarius Group.
