The outstanding director Dmitry Bertman, a longtime admirer of Giuseppe Verdi, staged hits at the “Helikon”: “La Traviata”, “Nabucco”, “Aida”, “Un ballo in maschera”, “Il trovatore”, “Falstaff”.
Soon, another masterpiece by the great Italian composer will join them — the opera “The Battle of Legnano,” a concert performance of which will take place on the stage of the Stravinsky Hall. One of Giuseppe Verdi’s best heroic-patriotic operas, marking the conclusion of his early creative period, will be performed under the direction of People’s Artist of Russia Felix Korobov. For the maestro, conducting “The Battle of Legnano” will become an important stage in his conducting career — Felix Korobov is progressively mastering the operatic works of the Italian genius in order to conduct all of his operas.
The founder of the Helikon Opera theater, Dmitry Bertman, has long dreamed of having The Battle of Legnano included in the theater’s repertoire — in Giuseppe Verdi’s work, this opera holds an important place. Audiences can expect expansive choral scenes, vivid lively characters, captivating Verdi melodies, and a plot interwoven with historically significant events and a love intrigue.
The leading soloists, chorus artists, and the symphony orchestra of the Helikon Opera theater will perform in a concert rendition.
