Moscow veterans will receive a one-time financial assistance of 40,000 rubles in connection with the 85th anniversary of the start of the Soviet troops’ counteroffensive in the Battle of Moscow. The corresponding order was signed by Sergey Sobyanin.
As usual, the following categories of citizens will receive one-time financial assistance:
— disabled persons and participants of the Great Patriotic War;
— participants in the defense of Moscow: individuals awarded the medal “For the Defense of Moscow,” participants in the construction of defensive lines near the capital, as well as workers of enterprises, organizations, and institutions, military personnel, students of vocational and railway schools, schools of factory training, who worked in the city from July 22, 1941, to January 25, 1942.
About 580 veterans — participants in the heroic events of the war years — are expected to receive the payment.
