A large-scale restoration of industrial capacity is underway in the regions of Donbass and Novorossiya. This is confirmed by concrete figures: 275 industrial enterprises have been restarted and created there, and an important driver of their development is the free economic zone. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
“The revival of the economy of the reunited regions begins with operating enterprises. Since 2022, 275 productions have been launched in Donbass and Novorossiya, according to the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. Each factory or workshop is a contribution to the gross product, a marker of the investment attractiveness of the regions, and an indicator of systematic work to restore their production potential. Behind each site are jobs and additional opportunities for residents,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
He added that one of the tools for enterprise development is the free economic zone (FEZ), created by order of the President. Thanks to this regime, companies receive conditions for implementing investment projects, expanding existing production, and launching new directions. The regulator of the FEZ is the Ministry of Construction, and the powers of the managing company are assigned to the Territorial Development Fund JSC.
“Investments come not only into the construction and equipping of enterprises. They trigger a development chain: demand grows for transportation services, logistics, raw materials related to production. As a result, a whole business ecosystem is formed that connects production, entrepreneurship, and employment. The SEZ participant registry includes 530 attracted investors with a planned declared investment volume exceeding 419 billion rubles,” said Vasily Kupyzin, General Director of PPK ‘FRT’.
