M. Mishustin: Dear friends!

I am glad to welcome all participants of the II Moscow Summit on Technological Entrepreneurship and Open Innovations.

Today, very active processes are underway that are changing the world. We are witnessing a global technological revolution. Artificial intelligence has already entered our lives and in the coming years may become as indispensable a part of it as electricity or the internet.

The creation of foundational models in Russia today is undertaken by corporations, which requires significant resources. They are the ones forming the basis of technological progress. Taking into account the specifics of various industries and developing convenient solutions for each of us is a challenging task. This is achievable by small companies that translate technology from the language of engineers into the language of concrete products to meet the needs of individuals or businesses across a wide range of economic sectors.

Therefore, the entire innovation market is currently betting on startups. More and more large organizations, including in our country, are turning to ready-made AI solutions created by technology entrepreneurs.

Russia has a strong engineering school and many talented young people who initiate scientific research and create breakthrough solutions. The entire education system today is aimed at training such specialists. They will soon become leaders in various sectors, including on a global scale. Entrepreneurial classes are appearing in schools, and an ecosystem supporting student entrepreneurship is being formed. Student teams are supported by grants and can defend their startup as a diploma project. Just last year, 5,000 young people from many regions of the country took advantage of this opportunity.

New technoparks and clusters are being opened, where startup founders are provided with everything necessary for work. Today, there are over 200 such sites of various profiles in Russia. Several dozen more are planned to be created within the next four years.

All these measures are yielding good results. Nearly 37 thousand new IT companies have appeared in the first half of this year. And now is a time of opportunities for technology entrepreneurs.

Here, at the Moscow Startup Summit venue, several thousand industrial partners, investors, representatives of universities, and development institutes from various countries – Russia, India, China, Brazil – will gather. Your common goal is to find practical applications for technologies, to implement products that will strengthen the economies of our countries.

I want to wish all participants productive work and interesting discussions. I am confident that significant achievements and new discoveries await you ahead.
