Two new exhibitions have opened in the Moscow Metro — “Science in Faces” and “Along the Russian Addresses of China.” Passengers can learn about the stories of outstanding Russian scientists and discover the development of Russian culture abroad.
“The ‘Science in Faces’ exhibition is being held for the fifth time at the transport complex venues. The exhibition ‘Along the Russian Addresses of China’ continues a series of projects aimed at developing Russian-Chinese cultural dialogue. We have already launched two themed trains for the Chinese New Year, hosted performances by artists from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) within the framework of the ‘Music in the Metro’ project, and organized a photo exhibition. By the order of Sergey Sobyanin, the Moscow Metro is developing not only as a transport system but also as a cultural and educational space,” added the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
On the second level of the “Delovoy Tsentr” transport hub, there is an exhibition titled “Science in Faces,” created as part of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia. It features photographic portraits of outstanding Russian researchers — laureates of the President of the Russian Federation’s award in science and innovation for young scientists, as well as other prestigious scientific awards. The photos are taken in a star-themed style. Passengers can learn about the stories of 30 researchers, discover modern scientific discoveries and developments, and find out which technologies today help improve people’s quality of life. The exhibition will run until October 12 inclusive.
In the passage between the Dynamo station of the Zamoskvoretskaya metro line and Petrovsky Park The Large Circle Line A exhibition “At the Russian Addresses of China” has opened at the metro, prepared by the Alexander Solzhenitsyn Russian Abroad House. The exhibition is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the PRC, as well as to the cross Years of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of education. The exhibition features more than 15 photo-documentary materials that tell about the history of the two largest centers of Russian culture in the Celestial Empire — Harbin and Shanghai. The exhibits can be viewed until and including October 14.
