A delegation from the State University of Management (SUM) participated in a ceremonial reception organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Moscow. The event was dedicated to the celebration of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the PRC and the 77th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China.
A festive reception was held at the official residence of the Ambassador of the PRC, combining two significant events – the founding day of the People’s Republic of China and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The GUU delegation included representatives from the International Cooperation Department and specialized units of the university: the head of the International Cooperation Department (ICD) Inessa Bogatyreva, the director of the Center for Socio-Economic and Political Studies of China Fanis Sharipov, and the head of the International Projects Implementation Department of the ICD Konstantin Vinogradov.
The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Russian Federation, Zhang Hanhui, addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. The diplomat emphasized that the foundation of Russian-Chinese relations has become even stronger, and the prospects for their development are promising. He reminded that the current year is significant for important dates: the 30th anniversary of the establishment of partnership and strategic cooperation relations, and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation.
According to the Ambassador, thanks to the decision of both parties to extend the agreement, interstate relations are based on the principles of equality, mutual support, and comprehensive strategic interaction.
From the Russian side, the response speech was delivered by Ivan Melnikov, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society. He emphasized the importance of humanitarian cooperation, noting that the deeper the economic interaction between the two countries becomes, the broader the circle of human connections, including youth exchanges, joint educational programs, and cultural projects.
The participation of representatives from the State University of Management in this high-profile diplomatic event underscores the university’s role as one of the key centers for training management personnel to work on the international track and strengthens the university’s position within academic diplomacy. The visit opens new horizons for expanding student exchange programs, joint scientific research projects, and internships for students at leading universities in China.
