The Moscow Transport Museum has been integrated into the capital’s transport ecosystem. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. Maxim Liksutov.
“In September, Sergey Sobyanin opened the new building of the Moscow Transport Museum in the historic building of Konstantin Melnikov’s garage, which was previously inaccessible to residents of the capital and tourists. For the museum’s opening, we created more than 60 updated navigation elements for three metro stations and Moscow Central Diameter, four streets, and Leningrad Station. In addition, it has become significantly easier for passengers of three ground transport routes, which now pass through the stop named after the museum,” said Maxim Liksutov.
Transport specialists have updated more than 60 signs at the Moscow city station Ploshchad Trekh Vokzalov and the Komsomolskaya stations of the Sokolnicheskaya and Koltsevaya metro lines. They now include a mention of the Moscow Transport Museum, and the navigation elements help guide visitors to its exit. In addition, the new museum building has been added to the map in the “City” section of the “Moscow Metro” app. There, users can also find nearby electric scooter parking spots, remotely check their charge level, and rent a suitable scooter.
The digital signs at Leningradsky railway station were also updated: the list of popular nearby locations on the navigation elements has changed. Next to the departure boards, passengers are informed about the opening of the new building of the Moscow Transport Museum and are shown the exterior of Konstantin Melnikov’s garage. A similar message is displayed on the digital steles located on the Troitskaya and Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya lines.
For the convenience of passengers, the nearby stop has been given a new name, “Moscow Transport Museum.” It is served by the city’s only sightseeing trolleybus route T.
In addition, visitors to the renovated Konstantin Melnikov Garage building are now assisted by inspectors from the Passenger Mobility Support Center (PMSC). They accompany visitors both to and from the museum building. An application must be submitted at least one day in advance by any convenient method. For example, by phone at +7 495 622-73-41 or +7 800 250-73-41, using mobile applications “Moscow Transport” or “Moscow Metro”, on the website capital metro, via SMS to the number: +7 926 250-47-80 (for visitors with hearing impairments), as well as through chatbot Alexander.
