A significant portion of the humanitarian cargo sent by entrepreneurs to the fighters of the special military operation (SMO) consists of food products. While previously the emphasis was on canned goods and instant meals, which are easy to transport and have a long shelf life, today the owners of shops, cafes and restaurants, beauty salons, and auto repair shops have mastered sending fresh vegetables and fruits, meat — beef and chicken — to the front line. And boxes of cookies and candies have been replaced by pastries, cakes, baked goods, and other sweets. Over the course of a year, the weight of humanitarian cargo that Moscow entrepreneurs send to the front line reaches several thousand tons.

Tableware and food products

The owners of a vegan cafe in the Meshchansky district of the Central Administrative Okrug have collected 30 rations for servicemen.

In the Western Administrative District, food supplies for the front were delivered by employees of a shopping complex in Krylatskoye, a grocery store in the Mozhaysky district, and a pub in Ramenki.

Food for the fighters was purchased by employees of four supermarkets in the Golovinsky District of the Northern Administrative District, and the owners of a seafood store in the Levoberezhny District sent the fighters of the Special Military Operation their own goods — assorted canned fish, frozen fish, and fish pâté.

Employees of the farmers’ market in the Otradnoye district of the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug collected ceramic dishes — cups and plates, while servicemen received stewed meat, cereals, pasta, canned goods, cookies, and candies from a grocery store in the Ostankinsky district.

More than 20 sets of food products, foodstuffs and industrial goods were delivered to the combat zone by the owners of a supermarket in Western Biryulyovo and a flower shop in Brateyevo.

Other entrepreneurs from the Southern Administrative District, owners of two stores in the Nagorny area and one in Chertanovo Central, also sent food products, including groceries. The latter purchased the humanitarian cargo for an amount of 300 thousand rubles.

Fresh fruits and food packages

Owners of two vegetable stalls in Kuzminki of the South-Eastern Administrative District gathered their own goods, to which they also added fresh fruits. Employees of one supermarket in the same area donated coffee, while another provided a variety of canned goods and juices.

They were joined by two stores on Volgograd Prospect, which sent rice, buckwheat, pasta, canned goods, sugar, candy, cookies, and waffles.

The owner of the supermarket in Vykhino-Zhulebino purchases food packages worth at least 15,000 rubles monthly for participants of the special operation. Employees of a clothing store, bakery, and supermarket in the same area regularly join him.

The heaviest single food parcel sent to the front line was dispatched by the employees of a shopping center in Yuzhny Butovo, South-Western Administrative District — 100 kilograms.

In the Zelenograd Administrative District, edible packages are collected by the team of the business center in the Silino area.

From the very first days of the special military operation, owners of Moscow shops, shopping centers, car dealerships, and other service establishments, as well as the city’s restaurateurs, have regularly sent humanitarian aid to the combat zone. The parcels contain long-lasting food products: canned meat, fish, and vegetables, tons of various grains—from rice and buckwheat to pearl barley—pasta, as well as sweets: cookies, candies, chocolate, and much more. Entrepreneurs also send personal hygiene products, medicines, and seasonal clothing: jackets, boots, and thermal underwear, as well as necessary building materials and even equipment, including quadcopters and entire convoys of vehicles.

Products from more than 40 regions of Russia are presented at the Moscow fairs. Places are provided to participants free of charge. Each supplier guarantees the quality and freshness of the goods, and specialists state veterinary service of the city of Moscow They check the products before sending them to the shelf.
