Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak, during a working trip to the Republic of Azerbaijan, held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations were discussed, in particular cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, including industry, energy, transport, and logistics.
“There is enormous potential for the development of trade and economic relations between our countries. Today, Russia and Azerbaijan are increasing constructive dialogue in the energy sector, both on oil and gas issues and on electric power, relying on vast joint long-term experience and a shared history. Our states continue intensive and fruitful cooperation within the framework of the OPEC+ Cooperation Declaration. Thanks to Azerbaijan’s support and our unified views on the future of the oil industry, we manage to reach consensus on the most important issues of the global energy agenda and jointly implement measures to stabilize the global energy market,” noted the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.
At the end of the meeting, Alexander Novak invited Azerbaijani colleagues to participate in the international forum “Russian Energy Week,” which will be held from October 14 to 16, 2026, in Moscow.
