China and Vietnam have pledged to fully utilize inter-party channels

Beijing, April 15 /Xinhua/ — A member of the Standing Committee /PSC/ of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee Cai Qi held talks in Beijing on Wednesday with a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam /CPV/ Central Committee, permanent member of the Secretariat of the CPV Central Committee Tran Cam Tu.

Zhai Ji called on the Communist Parties of China and Vietnam to play a coordinating and leading role, actually directing various departments, regions, and institutional platforms in the implementation of new important agreements reached by the general secretaries of the two parties.

According to a member of the CPC Central Committee Politburo, the Chinese side expects to jointly maintain close contacts at a high level with the Vietnamese side, to fully engage the special role of interparty channels, properly utilize the mechanism of the China-Vietnam strategic dialogue in the “3+3” format on diplomacy, defense, and public security issues, enhance exchanges and mutual training in the field of public administration, improve people-to-people exchanges, deepen cooperation in the fields of news media, culture, sports, and arts, and consistently uphold multilateralism andfree trade.

Chan Kam Tu, in turn, stated that the Vietnamese side is ready, together with the Chinese side, to further engage the special role of interparty channels, and expressed hope for an increase in the level of strategic interaction between the two sides.

A member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam also expressed readiness for joint efforts to decisively protect political security, strengthen regular contacts between key agencies, raise the level of bilateral cooperation, consolidate ties between the peoples of the two countries, increase multilateral coordination, and contribute to a more significant role of the two countries in regional and global affairs.
