On September 27, World Tourism Day, a themed program dedicated to the tourism opportunities of the capital will take place in the “Moscow Model” pavilion. This was announced by the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Department of Urban Planning Policy Vladislav Ovchinsky.
“Moscow is a city with a rich history, unique architecture, and many places that are interesting to discover even for those who have lived here for a long time. In the city center, ancient monasteries and historic squares stand side by side, along with famous museums, theaters, parks, and modern public spaces. Each district has its own character and its own attractions, so a walk through the capital can unfold differently each time. On Tourism Day, we invite pavilion guests to see this diversity on a model, learn interesting facts about landmark sites, and choose new routes,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky.
Moscow from a new perspective
Interactive tours “Tourist Moscow” will start at 12:10, 15:10, and 18:10. Guests will be told about the iconic places of the central districts of the capital. For example, in the Tagansky district, you can visit the Krutitsy Metochion, Simonov and Pokrovsky Monasteries; in the Yakimanka district — the Tretyakov Gallery and Gorky Park; and in the Tverskoy district — Red Square, the Kremlin, Theater Square, and Pushkin Square.
During the lecture, tourist sites will be shown directly on the model using lighting. When a specific attraction is discussed, its location will be highlighted, and photographs will appear on the screen. This way, visitors can simultaneously see the object on the map and imagine what it looks like in reality.
The program will continue with thematic quizzes, which will take place at 12:40, 15:40, and 18:40. Participants will test how well they know Moscow and discover new facts about the city’s history, architecture, and landmarks. The game format will help consolidate the information gained.
In addition, guests will see lighting shows. They will be held every 30 minutes from 11:00 to 19:30. Dynamic lighting will turn the model into a visual panorama of the capital and allow viewers to see the city from a new perspective.
The thematic program is designed both for tourists and Muscovites who want to get to know the capital better and find new places for walks. You can visit the “Moscow Model” pavilion for free from 10:00 to 20:00. Detailed information and the schedule of light shows are published on the website You can also sign up for excursions there.
