Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting dedicated to the situation in the automotive and construction industries with the participation of the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Maxim Oreshkin, the Chairperson of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina, representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Finance, and the expert community.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Ministry of Industry and Trade presented a detailed report on the current state of affairs in the automobile sector. By the end of 2025, about 1.5 million cars will have been sold in the domestic market, the share of domestic technology increased by 11% compared to 2024 and amounted to 56%. Issues of supply and demand balance, availability of free production capacities, and dynamics of automobile product imports were discussed.

Special attention was paid to the analysis of the situation in the sphere of residential and non-residential construction, as well as the building materials industry. During the period from 2023 to 2025, more than 326 million square meters of housing and over 115 million square meters of non-residential premises were commissioned.

Alexander Novak emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach to the areas of the economy under consideration, including the involvement of deeper analytical data. The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the relevant agencies to thoroughly analyze the construction industry, taking into account its interconnections with related sectors of the economy, as well as the dynamics within the industry itself. In addition, it is necessary to present strategies for the development of the domestic automotive industry, which will allow the development of support measures for the most effective producers and market participants, as well as ensure prompt responses to emerging challenges.
