During the implementation period renovation programs In the capital, more than 1,300 old houses have been completely vacated. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Policy and Construction. Vladimir Efimov.

“A total of 5,176 residential buildings are included in the active program approved in August 2017, more than 1,300 of which have already been completely resettled. Citizens received equivalent apartments in new residential complexes built under the program, usually not far from their old homes. This is convenient because after moving, people remain close to their familiar social infrastructure. There is no need to transfer children to new schools and kindergartens, switch to a different clinic, or search for suitable shops and household services near the home,” said Vladimir Efimov.

The renovation program is implemented on the principle of wave resettlement, whereby new houses are built in place of demolished buildings included in the program. This approach allows for the gradual renewal of the housing stock, and citizens receive comfortable apartments in their own districts. In the Troitsky, Novomoskovsky, and Zelenograd administrative districts, the relocation is carried out within the district.

The most houses were completely resettled in the east of Moscow — 233 buildings. In second place is the South-Eastern Administrative Okrug of the capital — 199 houses, and in third place is the Western Administrative Okrug — 155 residential buildings.

Houses resettled under the renovation program are dismantled using the modern “smart demolition” technology. It is environmentally friendly and significantly reduces the impact of noise and dust on the environment. All construction waste is carefully sorted and sent for reuse.

The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It affects about one million Muscovites and provides for the relocation of 5,176 houses. Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin ordered to increase implementation rates renovation programs twice. He also talked about implementation of the renovation program in the Ryazan district.
