Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve — the most important cultural venue in the south of Moscow and one of the brightest tourist attractions in Russia. From August 28 to November 8, it is hosting the exhibition “Tsaritsyno in Syktyvkar: Main Elements” in the halls of the National Gallery of the Komi Republic. The guests were presented with works of authorial decorative and applied arts from the museum’s collection. The exhibition features dozens of works by authors from Moscow, Leningrad, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and other countries. Visitors can see items made of clay, glass, stone, metal, and textiles. Today, the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve’s collections hold more than 60,000 items, unique artifacts, and works of art.
The exhibition “Basic Elements” was held for the first time at the Bread House in “Tsaritsyno” in 2022. It was dedicated to the 20-year era in the history of Soviet authorial decorative art and its role in the artistic process. The exposition gathered works devoted to natural elements and living matter, day and night, light and color, movement and stillness.
About relationships between people
The exhibition “Why I am Human” was prepared at the museum and exhibition center of the city of Zarechny, Penza region State Biological Museum named after K.A. Timiryazev with the support of the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation. Visitors can see exhibits dedicated to themes of modern relationships between people. The exhibition will be held in the Penza region until November 7.
Russian diaspora in China
An exhibition opened in Vladivostok for the Cross Years of Russian-Chinese Cooperation Alexander Solzhenitsyn Russian Abroad House “By the Russian Addresses of China.” The project is based on materials from the online resource “Map of the Russian Diaspora” and tells about two iconic centers of the Russian diaspora in China — Harbin and Shanghai, about their historical heritage and the Russian addresses that have become an integral part of the cultural landscape of these regions.
The exhibition was previously presented in Moscow, Harbin, Beijing, and Shanghai. Its showing in Vladivostok is symbolic: it was through this port city that many Russian emigrants headed east — to Harbin, and then to Shanghai. The exhibition was created by the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russian Abroad with the support of the Fund for the Heritage of the Russian Abroad and the State Development Corporation “VEB.RF.” It could be seen at the “Qinglong” teahouse in Vladivostok until September 20.
For the artist’s birthday
At the Novosibirsk State Art Museum, a solo exhibition of the world-renowned Russian artist Ilya Glazunov is on display until September 27, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of his birth. It will be the final stage of a large-scale project Galleries of Ilya Glazunov.
A solo exhibition of this artist was already held in Novosibirsk in 1989. Nearly 40 years later, the master’s paintings can be seen again at the same museum. About 100 world-famous paintings and illustrations from the collection of the Moscow State Art Gallery, by People’s Artist of the USSR Ilya Glazunov, will be shown to visitors. The exhibition covers a wide period of the painter’s biography — from paintings of the 1960s to late works created in the 2010s.
From leopard skin to elephant tusks
Traveling exhibition State Darwin Museum “Treasures of Smugglers” was held at the Museum of Natural History “State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve ‘Kazan Kremlin'” until September 16. The exhibition featured 39 museum items from the Darwin Museum’s collections: stuffed rare animals, snake skins, leather goods made from reptile skins, leopard and jaguar skins, African elephant tusks and products made from them.
From Kaliningrad to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk: how Moscow museums develop cultural exchange with the regions
Active inter-museum cooperation allows residents of different regions of Russia to get acquainted with unique exhibits from Moscow museums. In 2025, the city’s Department of Culture launched a series of large international and national projects based in city museums, within the framework of which such exhibition projects took place as “The Image of Moscow in Russian Art from the Collection of the State Russian Museum” in Pavilion No. 1 “Central” at VDNH, the Museum of Moscow’s exhibition “Volga. Moscow. Neva. Saratov Symbolists in Moscow and Leningrad of the 1920s-1940s,” the international exhibitions “India. The Fabric of Time” at the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve and “Spring Festival. New Year in Old Beijing” at the Museum of Moscow, as well as the second International Biennale “Art of the Future” at the Multimedia Art Museum.
