The rector of the State University of Management, Vladimir Stroev, congratulated the students and graduate students who are laureates of the Russian Government scholarship, as well as the scholarships named after S.P. Korolev and V.V. Zhirinovsky in 2026.
Students of GUU demonstrated a high level of research activity, winning 41 applications. Of these, 38 applications are Government of the Russian Federation scholarships, 2 applications are scholarships named after Sergey Pavlovich Korolev, and 1 application is a scholarship named after Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky.
The meeting took place in the Academic Council meeting hall, where Vladimir Stroev delivered a solemn speech, the leitmotif of which was pride in the university students and further encouragement in their academic and scientific achievements.
“Today an important event has occurred in your life. It’s one thing to simply study, it’s another to become a scholarship holder of the Government of the Russian Federation and other prestigious scholarships. This is very valuable, it’s your portfolio that can set the right vector for your entire further university life,” he said at the meeting with the young people.
The new scholarship recipients of the State University of Management were congratulated by the university’s vice-rector, Maria Karelina. She emphasized that the winners are not just students who study with “good” and “excellent” grades, but those who have an active life stance and participate in socially significant youth projects and, of course, in scientific research.
“It is gratifying to realize that everything you have done was not only for scholarships but also for your own professional development. And if your desire does not fade, we will be happy to see you in the research teams of our university: the Student Design Bureau, work on a large scientific project to create a digital village, joint projects with the Meshcheryakov Center, the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, and others,” said the Vice-Rector of the State University of Management.
In turn, the students and graduate students assured those gathered of their readiness to keep going and continue their scientific careers. Fourth-year student of the Applied Informatics program, Nikita Kolotushkin, is confident in his choice of path. After his bachelor’s degree, he intends to enroll in a master’s program and then in a doctoral program, emphasizing that he will pursue the same specialization he initially chose.
To those who intend to apply for a state scholarship in the future, Nikita advised not to sit idle but to be active; moreover, activity does not necessarily have to be only in the field of publishing scientific articles: “One can and should participate in contests and hackathons, as all of this is taken into account when deciding on the awarding of the scholarship.”
According to Maria Vikulova, a student at the Institute of Economics and Finance, “the most difficult stage was selecting my achievements to form the application.” But self-discipline and a focus on results, thanks to which she became a prize-winner of the international Financial Security Olympiad in 2025, allowed her to succeed in obtaining an additional scholarship and also gave her strength to hope for victory in the upcoming season of the Olympiad, which will take place soon.
Let us recall that today, the State University of Management independently and in cooperation with partner organizations is implementing numerous developmental and socially significant projects, participation in which provides additional extensive opportunities for candidates for state and departmental scholarships.
