On September 22, 2026, the Bank of Russia issues commemorative coins “Golden Antelope” from the series “Russian (Soviet) Animation”.

– a silver coin with a denomination of 3 rubles (catalog number 5111-0539),

– made of steel with a nickel coating, nominal value 25 rubles (catalog number 5715-0005),

– made of a copper-nickel alloy with a colored coating, denominated 25 rubles (catalog number 5015-0084).

The animated film “The Golden Antelope” was made in 1954 by director Lev Atamanov, based on Indian tales. It is a beautiful and instructive story about a greedy rajah and the friendship of a peasant orphan boy with a magical antelope that struck gold with its hoof. The film was created using a frame-by-frame redrawing method of filmed footage with real actors and sets. It was awarded a prize at the Cannes Film Festival and other international awards.

Description of the precious metal coin:

The silver coin with a denomination of 3 rubles (mass of precious metal in purity – 31.1 g, alloy standard – 925) has the shape of a circle with a diameter of 39.0 mm.

A raised rim runs around the circumference on both the obverse and reverse sides of the coin.

The obverse side of the coin features a relief image of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation, with inscriptions: “RUSSIAN FEDERATION,” “BANK OF RUSSIA,” the coin denomination “3 RUBLES,” the year of issue “2026,” the designation of the metal according to D.I. Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, the alloy fineness, the trademark of the Saint Petersburg Mint, and the mass of the precious metal in pure form.

On the reverse side of the coin, there is a colored image of the characters from the animated film “The Golden Antelope”; at the top left around the edge is a relief inscription “GOLDEN ANTELOPE.” The background images are created using laser matting technique.

The edge of the coin is reeded.

The coin is made in “proof” quality.

The coin mintage is 7,000 pieces.

Description of coins made from base metals:

Coins made of base metals with a denomination of 25 rubles have the shape of a circle with a diameter of 27.0 mm.

There is a raised rim around the circumference on both the obverse and reverse sides of the coins.

The edge surface of the coins is grooved.

On the obverse side of the coins is a relief image of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation, above it along the rim – an inscription in a semicircle “RUSSIAN FEDERATION”, framed on both sides by double diamonds, on the right – the trademark of the Moscow Mint, below the emblem in the center in three lines – the inscription “BANK OF RUSSIA”, the denomination of the coins “25 RUBLES”, the year of issue “2026”.

On the reverse side:

– steel coins with a nickel coating feature a relief image of characters from the animated film “Golden Antelope”; at the top left around the edge, there is a relief inscription “GOLDEN ANTELOPE”;

– coins made of a copper-nickel alloy feature a color image of characters from the animated film “Golden Antelope”; at the top left around the edge, there is a relief inscription “GOLDEN ANTELOPE.”

Coin mintage:

– made of steel with a nickel coating – 850,000 pieces;

– made of copper-nickel alloy with a colored coating – 150,000 pieces.

The issued coins are legal tender in the territory of the Russian Federation and must be accepted at their face value in all types of payments without restrictions.
